Photoshop for Artists: Beginner Mini-Course
Getting started with Photoshop layers
Take the first step towards making Photoshop your friend in both your art business and your personal creative process.
About the course
Are you ready to make Photoshop work for you? Are you over opening up the 'shop, seeing all those buttons and panels and thinking, "I'm out!"?
Photoshop can be an intimidating program, but that doesn’t mean a beginner can’t have fun or start creating quickly! The Photoshop for Artists: Beginner Mini-Course is a fun way to learn Photoshop basics for those with very little or no prior experience.
What does the course cover?
The focus of the course is one of Photoshop’s most powerful foundational features: layers! With a solid knowledge of layers under your belt, you’ll be ready to move on to other tools and functions with confidence in how to make it all come together.
Lesson 1: Layer Fundamentals - Learn to toggle layer visibility, re-order layers, and move elements on the canvas.
Lesson 2: More Layer Fun: Learn how to select and re-order multiple layers at the same time, how to delete layers, and how to duplicate them.
Lesson 3: Clipping and Transforming: Learn one of my favorite Photoshop features, clipping, and how to resize and rotate your collage elements.
BONUS: Download the Visual Practice Exercise Worksheet and practice re-creating collages using the skills you've learned!
What do I need to take the course?
- A copy of Photoshop installed on your computer
- Pre-made collage kit .PSD file (provided)
- Visual Practice Exercises Workshop (provided)
- Your own creativity for getting crazy with your collage!
See you inside, and happy Photoshopping! <3
